Annapolis man charged with attempted murder

An Annapolis man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man with a box cutter in an incident that has left the victim in critical condition, police said on Monday.

Annapolis Police said in a statement that the incident occurred at 11:50 p.m. on Friday on the 100 block of Main Street.

According to police, witnesses said that Larry Mason, 33, of Annapolis and the victim were fighting when Mason cut the victim in the chest with the box cutter. The victim was driven to Shock Trauma and was listed in critical condition, police said.

Mason faces multiple charges, including attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of carrying a weapon with intent to injure. He is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center, police said.
