The county Board of Education has approved changes in the 2014-2015 school year to help address the handling of inclement weather closings.
Under revisions approved by the board May 7, five days are built into the calendar for weather closings, up from four in past years. Should more than five days be necessary, days will be taken from Easter/spring break, though offices would still be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The calendar stipulates that if more than nine days are needed for inclement weather closings, makeup days would be added to the end of the school year.
The 2014-2015 school year is scheduled to start Aug. 25 and end June 18, 2015. The complete calendar can be found ataacps.org.
