Wrestling: Patriots stay unbeaten with win over Kent Island

Trinity Killip (106), Matt Morris (138), Nehemiah Carter (160), Cortez Floyd (195) and Nasir Bakare (285) all registered pins for Old Mill on the way to defeating Kent Island, 61-12, on Monday.

Damion Mansapit (132) added a 14-4 major decision for for the Patriots (16-0).

Dylan Finlay (145) and Hadyn Blanchard (220) notched pins for the Buccaneers.

SOUTH RIVER 64, RESERVOIR 7: Austin Simpson (113), Isaac Barber (120), Ben Robertson (126), Alex Peterson (220) and Ka’ron Lewis (285) all scored pins for the Seahawks as they took down the Gators. South River improve to 20-6 overall and 10-2 in the region.

PATTERSON MILL 46, CHESAPEAKE 22: Logan Webb (120) pinned his opponent in 3:04 and Aiden Yost (106) won a 9-1 major decision, but the Cougars fell short against the Huskies. Victor Listorti (132) and DJ Hoover (152) won high-scoring decisions, 11-10 and 12-10 respectively, and Andrew Garcia (113) won by forfeit for Chesapeake.

SPALDING SHINES AT OCEAN LAKES INVITATIONAL: Paul Truntich (120) and Tyler Savage (160) of Archbishop Spalding placed first in their respective weight classes at the Ocean Lakes Invitational, a tournament in Virginia Beach that concluded Saturday. Truntich dominated with first-period pins of all four of his opponents, and Savage won with three first-round pins and one injury forfeit.

Dustin Radford took second at 170 and Sam Smirnoff (126) and Ryan Garrettson (145) placed third in their classes.
