AACS serves up volleyball win

Nicole Garner and Milan Gomillion had big nights serving to lead AACS to a sweep of Bryn Mawr, 25-7, 25-3, 25-5 on Friday. Garner was 21 for 23 serving with 10 aces, and Gomillion was 15 for 17 serving with five aces.

Camille Sims lead AACS (6-1) with five kills with Gomillion adding four and Garner getting three kills. Morgan Lang had 21 assists for the Eagles.

PENINSULA CATHOLIC 3, SPALDING 0: Taryn Crone was a perfect 14-for-14 serving and had 11 digs for Spalding against visiting Peninsula Catholic, but it wasn’t enough to avert a sweep as the Cavaliers fell 8-25, 25-27, 16-25.

Terra Dzambo had three blocks for the Cavaliers. Peninsula Catholic, from Newport News, Va., is now 14-0.

NORTHERN 3, BROADNECK 0: Madison Chadwick had 10 digs and two aces and Neely Winter tallied five digs and four kills, but the Bruins lost to the Patriots, 25-20, 25-22, 25-16. Emma Quandt added five kills for Broadneck (1-3).

MARYVALE 3, ST. MARY’S 1: Adriana Sita had three aces and 13 digs for the Saints (5-1), who fell to the Lions 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23 despite being within three points in every set. Sydney Heatley had two aces and 15 assists and Alli Cherry added three aces and five kills.
