Loughlin's goal caps comeback for Key soccer

Drew Loughlin scored the winning goal with nine minutes to go, completing a comeback for Key School in a 4-3 win over St. John’s on Wednesday in boys soccer.

Zack Glime had two goals and an assist, Nico Montenegro added a goal and an assist and Will Edwards had two assists for Key (8-2), which had trailed 3-0.

SEVERN 8, STS. PETER & PAUL 1: Nathan Gauthier led the offensive onslaught for the Admirals (6-9) with three goals and Everett Cortes scored another while registering five assists. Devin McCarthy had two goals and Spencer Russell and Ethan Andersen each had one. McCarthy and Sam Brighton each had an assist.

JOHN CARROLL 2, SPALDING 1 (2OT): Despite an offensive barrage of 30 shots, the Cavaliers fell to 4-12-1.

BOYS’ LATIN 3, ST. MARY’S 1: Cameron Ehnat scored for the Saints (3-8-1) and was assisted by Matthew Clifford. Chris Spindler made five saves and Conor Hogan made two.


NORTH COUNTY 3, CHESAPEAKE SCIENCE POINT 2: Mia Emerick scored three goals and Madelyn Ault had 12 saves as the Knights won for the first time.

North County (1-9) led 1-0 at the half, but needed to score the game’s final two goals to break a 1-1 deadlock.
