Chesapeake’s Jack Snyder, who finished second at last year’s county championship, fired a 35 and was six strokes better than a pair of second-place golfers, as the Cougars opened the 2017 golf season by winning a B Division match over Old Mill, Annapolis and Southern on Tuesday at Eisenhower Golf Course.
Snyder’s teammate, Ethan Dill, and Old Mill’s Devan Grover each shot a 41 to tie for second. The Cougars’ Garrett Summers was third with a 44, Presley Miller of Annapolis followed with a 46 and Ty Rich of Chesapeake rounded out the top 5 with a 48.
Chesapeake finished with a team score of 168, followed by Old Mill (195), Annapolis (223) and Southern (224). Annapolis’ Jack Bridgeman shot a 49, Old Mill’s Paris Hagans carded a 50 and and Southern’s Elias Hutchinson also shot a 50 for the Bulldogs’ top score.
