Spangler scores two goals as Chesapeake blanks Atholton

Georgia Spangler tallied two goals and Eryn Beal added another goal as Chesapeake blanked Atholton, 3-0, on Thursday in field hockey.

Rachel Fleig dished off a pair of assists and Tatum Schatt recorded an assist. Eve Vickery stopped six shots to earn her second shutout of the year for Chesapeake (3-1).

RIVER HILL 1, SOUTH RIVER 0: Kaitlyn Wallace made five saves, but the Hawks blanked the Seahawks. South River (4-2) took 43 shots, but only 12 found the cage and were stopped by Caroline Kral.

BROADNECK 4, MOUNT HEBRON 3: Sammy Dupcak posted a pair of goals and Megan Munley added a goal and an assist to guide the Bruins over the Vikings. Anna Feick recorded the other Broadneck goal, Emily Eckels and Maggie Strandquist each registered an assist and Cecilia Gazelle made 11 saves for Broadneck (3-1).

SOUTHERN 5, WILDE LAKE 0: Shelby Bell scored three goals and Lindsey Crawford and Lizzie West added a goal apiece as the Bulldogs defeated the Wildecats.

Emily Kissinger recorded a pair of assists, Maddie Wallace and Julie Barksdale were each credited with an assist and Carly West and Sarah McBride split time in goal, combining to make two saves for Southern (3-1).

OLD MILL 5, NORTH COUNTY 0: Shelby Kingston and Allyna Threatt each scored two goals and Jade Kakuk added a goal and an assist as the Patriots topped the Knights.

Erin Osborne, Emma Fontz and Kaiya Sabur also had an assist apiece and Becca Creekmore made two saves for Old Mill (2-1).

Karissa Jenkins made 14 saves for North County (1-2).

NORTHEAST 11, HAMMOND 0: Kaitlyn Wedemeyer had two goals and an assist, while Emma Borgert, Ashley Gerenert and Delaney Piechowak each netted two goals as the Eagles secured their first win by blanking the Golden Bears.

Madelyn Watson chipped in with a goal and an assist, Julia Rafiq and Sydney Makarovich tallied a goal apiece, Hannah Fox made three saves and Emma Hurman added two stops for Northeast (1-4).

SEVERN 6, PARK 1: Sydney Kirchenheiter scored a pair of unassisted goals, Ally Dixon found the back of the cage twice, while Abi Poindexter and Libby Wild each netted solo goals as the Admirals defeated the Bruins.

Regan King notched a pair of assists and Arielle Hillock made five saves for Severn (1-2).

ANNAPOLIS 16, MEADE 0: Sydney Miller and Sofia Barkat each netted three goals, while Grace DiBerardinis and Avery Anderson added two goals apiece as the Panthers shut out the Mustangs on Tuesday night. Jess Baker, Sarah Baker, Amelia Farrell, Allie Nicolini, Ava Powell and Tory Swank each netted a goal and Molly Murname made two saves for Annapolis (2-1). Madeline Pesz made 28 saves for Meade.
