Brown's late goal lifts Broadneck past Arundel

Torie Brown nailed an unassisted goal from about 30 yards away with 10 seconds left in regulation to deliver Broadneck a 3-2 victory over Arundel Friday in girls soccer.

Before that, Lela Clark had the Bruins’ first two goals, assisted by Talia Gabarra and Mia Camm. Maija Schwartz made six saves for Broadneck (5-1).

Lauren Cummins and Grace Palmieri scored for Arundel and Sammy King saved 12 shots for Arundel (1-5).

KENT ISLAND 9, COLONEL RICHARDSON 0: McKenzie Mogel racked up three goals and an assist and Fiona Mulligan had a goal and two helpers as the Buccaneers took care of the Colonels. Kendall Embrey added a pair of goals and Biggs Helfenbein had two assists.

Grace Schilling, Kylie Marsden and Casey Smith also scored, and Madi Banks made eight saves for Kent Island (2-2). The Bucs are 2-0 in the Northern Bayside Conference.

ST. MARY’S 1, ELIZABETH SETON 0: Lindsay Hegewisch scored the deciding goal with 15 minutes left, assisted by Chloe Byrne, for the Saints to beat the Roadrunners. Shelby Sullivan saved six shots for St. Mary’s (2-4-1).

SEVERN 0, FALLSTON 0: Inde Lauer made five saves for the Admirals (4-4-1).

CALVERTON 2, AACS 1: Zoe Lemke scored an unassisted goal for the Eagles, but they fell to the Cougars in non-conference action. Arissa Hendershot stopped eight shots for AACS (2-3-2).

ROCKBRIDGE ACADEMY 7, SOUTHERN MARYLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Mayowa Taiwo, Kaelyn Mole and Alanna Craig scored two goals apiece and Claire Mackes racked up a goal and two assists to keep the Scots undefeated. Vivian Grev, Katy Trovato and Craig added assists for Rockbridge (7-0).
