Sullivan, Green lead South River to victory

Kathleen Sullivan scored 11 points and TaMaya Green added 10 points to lead South River to a 49-30 victory over Huntingtown on Wednesday. Chance Herndon had six points, five rebounds, six assists and five steals, while Ashlynn Burrows added eight points and six rebounds for South River (2-0).

IND 69, SEVERN 28: Jorryn Avery scored 14 points for the Admirals, who fell to 1-2.

WESTERN TECH 48, ANNAPOLIS 21: Anna King scored three points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Angel Colbert scored seven points for the Panthers, who dropped their season-opener.

LEONARDTOWN 80, GLEN BURNIE 32: Tierra Harris scored 18 points in the season-opening loss for the Gophers.

SEVERNA PARK 39, BEL AIR 28: Rachel Ward scored 10 points and Emily Summers pulled down 10 rebounds as the Falcons (1-0) opened their season with a win. Helena McLaughlin chipped in with six points and 11 rebounds.

ST. MARY’S 62, MARYVALE 56: Whitney Albert poured in 22 points and Elizabeth Gilman added 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Saints past the Lions. Karry Kelliher added 12 points for St. Mary’s (3-1).

EASTERN TECH 49, NORTHEAST 42: Ryleigh Nalley scored 15 points while Mackenzie Coburn and Allyson Wills each scored nine points, but the Eagles fell to the Mavericks. Carrie Hartzell added five points while Tori Collins scored four points for Northeast (0-1).
