Annapolis Police investigating string of burglaries at businesses on Forest and Hillsmere drives

Police are investigating a series of burglaries at businesses on Forest and Hillsmere drives they believe are related.

The first report was around 2:30 a.m. Thursday when an alarm was activated at a business in the 1400 block of Forest Drive, Annapolis Police said. They discovered that the front door had been forced open and money was stolen. No suspects were located inside.

About 45 minutes later, officers responded to an alarm in the 100 block of Hillsmere Drive. The front door had been forced open, but nothing was reported stolen.

At another business in the same block, at about 3:25 a.m., an alarm had been activated and officers responded to find the front door damaged, but not open.

Just over an hour later, at 4:35 a.m., an officer checking businesses because of the earlier burglaries discovered the side door to a business open and unlocked. Police say it appeared that burglars entered earlier and stole money. The door may have been left unlocked.

The incidents on Forest and Hillsmere drives are being investigated as related burglaries, according to police.
