Couple found dead in Odenton home

A couple was found shot dead in their Odenton home Sunday morning, police say.

Spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure said county police were called at 7:05 a.m. to the 2000 block of Brigadier Boulevard near Charter Oaks Boulevard from an adult family member inside the house saying two people were dead there.

The couple, 55-year-old Charles James Edward Jackson and his wife, 47-year-old Veronique Crystal Jackson, were found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead on site by fire personnel, a police statement said.

After finding the bodies, homicide detectives were called to the scene to interview the family member who called 911 and investigate, Frashure said. Detectives and Evidence Technicians worked into the night collecting evidence and interviewing family and witnesses, the police statement said.

Autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death will be done at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore on Monday, the statement said.

“Preliminary facts gathered from witnesses coupled with evidence within the crime scene indicate this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence,” the statement read.

The incident appears to have been isolated to the house late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, and there is no threat to the neighborhood or public, Frashure said. The case is considered a suspicious death investigation.

Police urge anyone with information on the case to call Anne Arundel County Homicide Unit at 410-222-4731. Anonymous tips can be left at the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line 410-222-4700 or Metro Crime Stoppers.
