Anne Arundel police arrested a Lothian man Wednesday after he allegedly shot another man.

Officers obtained a warrant Tuesday charging Reginald Dewaun Barnett, 32, with attempted first-degree murder, assault, weapons charges, violating his probation and other offenses.

Police said officers responded to a reported shooting in the 5100 block of Sands Road in Lothian at 2:01 a.m. Tuesday.

A man told police he was arguing with his neighbor, later identified as Barnett, when the neighbor pulled out a gun and began shooting toward him.

The man was shot once in the calf.

Investigators said the man was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries and released.

Barnett was taken into custody Wednesday. He was ordered held without bond.

Barnett could not be reached for comment. No attorney was identified as representing him in court records.
