County fire officials said one person was taken to the hospital after a Glen Burnie kitchen fire on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters found smoke coming from the front of a one-story rancher after responding to a call of a kitchen fire around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Fernglen Avenue, said Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies. He said the fire was out in less than 10 minutes.
A 79-year-old man was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie in stable condition after paramedics evaluated him for smoke inhalation, Davies said.
The fire is under investigation, and no damage estimate has been reported.
