Some excitement, but in the end, a false fire alarm at historic Annapolis inn

A false fire alarm at Governor Calvert House on State Circle in Annapolis this morning led to a lot of sightseers, some snarled traffic and, in the end, much ado about nothing.

A city fire official later confirmed it was a false alarm at the historic inn. Before discovering that, though, fire trucks and equipment closed off State Circle as a crowd gathered outside.

Annapolis police had to re-route some traffic but the fire official said their trucks had no issues getting to the site.
