A benefit for the survivors and families of the shooting at The Capital last month will be held Sunday at The Greene Turtle in Annapolis.

Next Big Thing Productions, One Koast Entertainment, Shook Productions & Media, BeeprBuzz, and Current Marketing and P.R. are combining forces for the “Annapolis Strong” event.

The event will run from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 177 Jennifer Road location.

Billed as a family friendly event, it will feature “music, art and community appreciation for the families of the victims, their colleagues and first responders,” according to a news release.

“All proceeds raised will be donated to the Capital Gazette Families Fund,” which is managed by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, according to the release.

The Annapolis location is one of 12 with licenses owned by Mid-States Management Group, a business group founded by County Executive Steve Schuh.

In a statement, spokesman Owen McEvoy said that Schuh was not involved in the decision, saying “he is obviously supportive but doesn’t make any operational decisions.”
