As the rain rolls on through the weekend, the bikes will not.
Two biking events, Bike to Work day and the Ride of Silence memorial, have been canceled this week due to the wet weather.
Ride of Silence, an annual event held to commemorate those killed in road traffic accidents, will be postponed until another date is set. Bike to Work day will be moved to June 1.
The rain, which closed Route 450 for part of Wednesday morning, will continue into Thursday with scattered showers lasting throughout the weekend. A thunderstorm is forecast for Saturday.
Several state and local agencies have issued flood warnings and advised cars to map alternate routes to avoid commonly swamped roads.
If you’re headed outdoors this weekend, don’t forget your umbrella.
