An Annapolis man was seriously injured today after he crashed his car into a tree in Arnold.

Anne Arundel County police said officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on College Parkway near Jones Station Road at 12:29 p.m.

Investigators said the driver — Lee Jay Norris, 42, of Annapolis — was driving his Jeep Cherokee when he crossed over the median and struck a tree.

He was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore to be treated for serious injuries.

Police said speed nor alcohol is believed to have contributed to the crash.
