Between midnight and 9:30 a.m. Monday, Anne Arundel County saw 57 crashes as icy conditions made for hazardous roadways for those traveling back home after the Super Bowl.

Of the 57 accidents, 16 resulted in minor injuries, said Capt. Russ Davies, spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. All accident victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

There was no particular area that was worse for vehicular crashes either, Davies said. Highways and side roads all saw their fair share of collisions and even some rollovers, he said, but there was not one part of the county or a specific road that caused a lot of people trouble.
