STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (WPIX)—A 14-year-old boy from Staten Island was rushed to the hospital after his older sister allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
The violent dispute erupted at the family's Stapleton home located at 241 Gordon St. before noon on Sunday.
According to reports, Rodney Tyler was bleeding heavily as paramedics rushed him to the hospital. His sister, 17-year-old Quanaya Tyler, has been arrested and charged with first degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The teens, who police say fight on a daily basis, got into a heated argument around 11 a.m. Quanaya reportedly grabbed two knives - a butcher knife and steak knife - and when their mother tried to intervene, Quanaya reportedly reached around her mother and stabbed her brother with a steak knife.
The family had apparently just moved into the neighborhood on Saturday.
Rodney and Quanaya have six other siblings, ranging in age from infanct to pre-teen, police said.
