Three Queens teenagers are in police custody for their apparent role in an alleged racial attack on a 15-year-old boy in a Whitestone schoolyard last week.

The three boys, identified as two 15-year-olds and one 14-year-old, were charged with assault and menacing as hate crime during an appearance in Queens Family Court on Monday. The names of the alleged attackers have not been released since they are juveniles.

Authorities say the attack occurred on March 24, when 15-year-old Victor Echeverria, a student at Junior High School 194, was approached by three boys while he was playing basketball with friends.

The suspects apparently told Victor and his friends to get off the court before a big brawl quickly ensued. Victor's father, who is a native from Guatemala, said his son was punched in the face, head and briefly passed out.

According to reports, city lawyers said when a friend when to help Victor, one of the suspects called him a "terrorist" and called Victor a "spic."
