A Morris County sheriff supervisor and volunteer firefighter  is under arrest Tuesday, charged with multiple counts of arson and burglary, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi.

While working as a supervisor for the sheriff’s office, Jason Campbell deliberately set two fires in Parsippany, NJ -- one at 12 Ute Ave. on June 6, 2010, and at 116 Old Bloomfield Ave. on Sep. 14, 2008, according to the prosecutor’s office.

“It is of course disturbing when any member of law enforcement or fire service allegedly violates their oath to honorably serve the public.  However, the public should also be assured of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office's commitment to eradicate those alleged to have breached that public trust,” Bianchi said.

The arrest follows an undercover investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Parsippany Police Department.

Campbell was also working as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Parsippany-Troy Hills District Five Fire Company at the time of the alleged arson acts.

Campbell will be held on $50,000 bail at the Sussex County Jail.
