BAY RIDGE, N.Y. (WPIX)—Police are investigating a violent bar brawl involving New York's Bravest that left 4 men badly injured.
According to reports, the fight erupted inside the Salty Dog bar in Bay Ridge in the early hours of Saturday morning after a bar patron accidentally spilled a drink on an unidentified FDNY firefighter.
Even though the man apologized, the firefighter became enraged and along with fellow firefighters attacked the man and his three cousins. Police believe as many as 24 active and retired firefighters were involved. Most of them are stationed at Engine 310n and Ladder 174 in East Flatbush.
The brawl got so out of hand that bouncers reportedly intervened to stop the fight.
The patrons were hospitalized for the injuries they suffered which included broken bones.
The four victims have filed assault complaints with the police. They also hired lawyer Joseph Tacopina and plan of filing a civil suit. PIX called Tacopina, but received no answer.
New York City Police are still investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
