BRONX, N.Y. (WPIX)—
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at the 13th annual St. Theresa's feast in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx. According to reports, panicked parents instantly started jumping over and screaming for help as they watched the crash occur. Authorities say the ride which was operated by Tri-Star Amusements Inc. and had a city-issued permit, was about three to four feet off the ground.
Police say a total of 7 children were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, with only minor injuries.
Cops are still investigating what caused the roller coaster to derail.
