Closing arguments are scheduled Monday in the second-degree murder trial of rapper Corey "C-Murder" Miller, accused of shooting a 16-year-old fan during a brawl in a nightclub.

The 38-year-old Miller would face a mandatory life term if convicted of the Jan. 12, 2002, killing of Steve Thomas at the Platinum Club in Harvey. The club has since closed.

Miller's first trial ended with a conviction Sept. 30, 2003, but state District Judge Martha Sassone ruled that prosecutors had improperly withheld criminal background information about three key witnesses. The Louisiana Supreme Court upheld her ruling.
