Bail has been set at $350,000 for a man accused of shooting a 14-year-old boy.

Richard Franklin, who is 21, is charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Police say he shot the boy five times - once in the neck - in an ambush outside of The Hot Spot barbershop.

New Orleans EMS paramedics later took the teen to LSU Interim Public Hospital for treatment in critical condition. His condition was later improved to stable.

Investigators haven't released details about a motive for the shooting. Franklin would serve 10 to 50 years in prison if convicted of attempted second-degree murder.
