NEW ORLEANS,LA—Members of the New Orleans Police Department's Traffic Division are investigating an accident that left one unidentified female dead, and two males ages 47 and 22 in stable condition at a local hospital. The incident occurred at number 8 Canal Street in the valet parking area at approximately 12:15 A.M.
According to investigators, a 22-year-old male valet service employee was backing up a Lincoln Navigator when for reasons unknown, he lost control of the vehicle and struck a SUV, an unidentified female and two male employees of the business. The vehicle continued reversing and struck two taxi cabs and two other vehicles, no one injured, before coming to a stop.
Emergency Medical Paramedics transported the victims to a local hospital where the unidentified female was pronounced dead and the 47 and 22 year-old males where listed in stable condition with face, leg and arm injuries. The valet service employee who was the operator of the Lincoln Navigator was not injured in the incident.
No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation. Blood and alcohol tests are pending. The Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
