New Orleans—The lawyer for the man whose property housed Louisiana Film Studios LLC says he is cooperating with a federal criminal investigation of the studio.
Vinny Mosca says he gave investigators all documents of client George Ackel's association with Wayne Read, the studio's chief executive. He says Ackel is a victim.
Read did not immediately return a call Saturday.
The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm or deny any investigation.
Members of the New Orleans Saints invested $1.9 million in the studio, believing they were buying tax credits. State film officials say Read never applied for the credits.
Jimmy Castex, who represents former Saints player Kevin Houser, said last month that FBI agents were investigating.
A bankruptcy court hearing is scheduled Sept. 24.
