NEW ORLEANS—The New Orleans Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Michael Johnson of New Orleans, wanted in connection with an aggravated battery that occurred August 18, 2009, at approximately 3:00 p.m., in the 1300 block of Frenchman Street.
According to investigators, officers responded to a call of a "male shot" and upon arrival found the victim with multiple gunshots to his body. The officers immediately requested emergency medical services and transported the victim to a local hospital.
Detectives learned that the victim intervened during a fight with two other subjects at which time, Michael Johnson approached the victim produced a handgun and shot the victim several times. Johnson then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
During the course of the investigation, Detective L. Austin positively identified Michael Johnson as the person responsible for the shooting and secured an arrest warrant.
