A 34 year-old man was shot to death in the St. Claude neighborhood.

New Orleans Police say the shooting happened at the intersection of Louisa Street and Marais Street, just before 9:30 Saturday night.

Officers found the victim laying in the street on top a motorcycle suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office told ABC26 News, the identity of the victim will be released after family members are notified.

Investigators are gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) involved in this incident, as well as a motive.
