NEW ORLEANS—Murder Investigation Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the apparent shooting death of a 30-year-old local male whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The offense occurred at approximately 8:25 P.M., at the intersection of Mazant and North Robertson Streets.
According to investigators, an Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Deputy was traveling on North Robertson Street when he heard gunfire.
When he went to investigate, he observed the victim lying in the street on Mazant at North Robertson Street with multiple gunshot wounds to the body and called police.
Emergency Medical Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
The victim had Marijuana in his possession and detectives found a handgun on the scene.
The victim was previously arrested for Possession of Crack 2 times, Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Resisting a Police Officer 2 times, Simple Burglary, Lewd Conduct, Traffic, Trespassing 10 times and Warrants.
