Rain, soggy fields and gray skies did not stop fans from attending this year's New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Festival organizers say an estimated 375,000 people came through the gates at the Fair Grounds Race Course to hear more than 500 bands perform during the seven-day event. Still, the inclement weather cut into the festival's draw. Last year, the festival recorded more than 400,000 people in attendance.

Proceeds from the festival help finance the foundation's year-round activities covering education, economic development and cultural events.

Also on Friday, organizers announced the 2011 festival will be held April 29 through May 8.
