Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:  

On January 31, 2011, Deseree Johnson, 30 of 62533 Church St. in Roseland, LA on multiple charges.  

While patrolling on Central Ave. in Roseland, Deputy Sean Scott initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Deseree Johnson. As Johnson was exiting the vehicle, Deputy Scott advised him to show his hands and remain where he was.  Neglecting to comply with Scott’s demands, Johnson attempted to walk toward the front of his parked vehicle.  Deputy Scott then attempted to apprehend the subject.  Johnson began to violently pull away and became aggressive with Deputy Scott.  Breaking free from Deputy Scott, Johnson then fled on foot from the scene.  

Additional deputies arrived at the scene and Johnson was successfully apprehended and transported to the Parish Jail.  While at the jail, Johnson was found to be in possession of a small plastic bag of marijuana which he had in his right shoe.   

Johnson was subsequently booked and charged with Resisting an officer by Force or Violence (2 Counts), Flight from an Officer, Resisting an Officer by Flight on Foot, Battery on a Police Officer, Possession of Marijuana, Introduction of Contraband into a penal institution, along with four outstanding Warrants.
