South L.A.Santos Turcios, 42, and his son Alan Turcios, 20, were shot multiple times at 1018 E. 73rd St. about 12:55 a.m. Saturday. According to police, the two were confronted by a man who pulled out a gun and fired several shots. The motive is unknown, police said.
VeniceMichel Dumitriu, 50, was stabbed during a brawl outside a bar in the 100 block of Rose Avenue about 7 p.m. Feb. 8. Officers discovered him lying on the sidewalk. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Shortly after, officers were dispatched to Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center to investigate a patient with stab wounds. Police later arrested the patient in connection with the killing.
Mid-CityEmily Grigsby, 19, was shot about 11 p.m. Feb. 15 while attending a party at 5854 Pickford St. According to police, Grigsby and a 17-year-old male were standing outside when a man walked up and shot them both.
Miracle MileTerri Nadler, 61, was shot to death in her home at 200 S. Detroit St. about 11:23 a.m. Feb. 2. Officers discovered the bodies of Terri and her husband, Bruce Nadler, 61. The shooting is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said.
San PedroFrancisco Aguirre Jr., 31, was killed by a hit-and-run driver at 1519 N. Gaffey St. about 1:15 a.m. Jan. 19. According to Det. Frank Weber, Aguirre and his friends were returning from a birthday celebration and had made a final stop at a 7-Eleven. Inside the store, a man got into a verbal confrontation with one of Aguirre's friends. As Aguirre and his friends were returning to their limo bus, the man -- who had been waiting in the parking lot -- put his van into reverse and plowed through the group, dragging Aguirre from the lot and into the street.
