Hundreds of seniors gathered at Reliant Center Thursday hoping to set a Guinness World Record for the "Largest Wii Sports Bowling Tournament."

"We're just excited, yeah!," said Sandy Penman with the Sugar Land Senior Center.

The Wii Wackers are just one senior group out of dozens who signed up to participate in the virtual bowl off.

"We're trying to beat somebody," said Alma Llorance. "We may not be on top, but we want to come in place somewhere."

The mega tournament is one for the record books. It turned out to be the world's largest game of Wii bowling. Over 200 seniors had to compete to earn their ranks in the Guinness Book of World Records. Nearly 600 showed up for the bowl off.
