McALLEN, Texas (AP) - Four Florida men died in a plane crash on rural ranch land in Duval County.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Charles Ramirez on Tuesday identified the pilot of the twin-turboprop Beechcraft King Air as Paul Mazak II.
The plane was registered to Mazak Properties of Webster, Fla. and Mazak lived in Bushnell, Fla. Ramirez did not know where in Florida the other three men lived. They were Malcolm Lavender, Richard Schippers and Shane Schippers.
The plane vanished from Federal Aviation Administration radar late Monday morning after the pilot reported encountering turbulence, on a flight from Uvalde to Leesburg, Fla.
Thunderstorms had moved across south Texas.
Authorities were waiting Tuesday for officials from the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board to arrive at the crash site, about 75 miles west of Corpus Christi.
