A pilot suffered broken ribs and bruises after crashing his small plane in Montgomery County. The plane went down in the front yard of a home on Oak Knoll Driver late Monday night. The pilot, Court Koenning, 37, was the executive director of the Harris County Republican Party from 2002-2005. He was flown to a hospital with broken ribs and cuts to his face.

You can see from the pictures that the plane hit a pine tree before crashing nose down into the yard, just feet away from a home. Neighbors rushed to the scene after hearing the loud crash and pulled the pilot from the wreckage.

The FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
