The U.S. Supreme Court will not stop Texas courts from executing a Mexican-national connected to a Houston double murder. Jose Medellin, was sentenced to die for taking part in the 1993 rape and murder of two Houston teens. Elizabeth Pena and Jennifer Ertman were killed during a gang initiation. His execution Tuesday was delayed while the Supreme Court reviewed his appeal. The World Court says Medellin should not be executed because he was not granted international courtesies such as access to the Mexican Consulate. The state moved ahead with the execution shortly before 10 P.M. Tuesday.
