Drive along Post Oak Blvd. or through River Oaks and you'll notice it's beginning to look at lot like Christmas.

We are barely past Halloween, but holiday decorations are already starting to take over the streets and the stores.

39 News set out Monday to see if folks in Houston think this is way too early or right on time.

"I think it's too soon. We just got through Halloween," said Linda Terrebonne.

"I think we need to wait for Thanksgiving. At least Thanksgiving," said Frank Edwards.

Most people agreed Christmas doesn't begin for them until after Thanksgiving.

But Dalia Stokes, owner of Christmas Rocks -- a year-round Christmas store -- said there is a market for early birds.

"It starts to pick up in September," she said.

Stokes said retailers stock the shelves early because that's when the products come in.

"If they don't put it out, they have to store it someplace, and that's not good for the retailer or the public," she said.

For what it's worth, there are 53 more shopping days until Christmas.
