Columbia man indicted in fatal street shooting
A Howard County grand jury indicted Antajuan L. Wilson on a first-degree murder charge yesterday in the midday shooting of a man on the sidewalk of a busy street in Columbia last month.
Wilson, 19, of the 10800 block of Green Mountain Circle in Columbia, was also indicted on charges of second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and weapons counts. Wilson was arrested April 12 and is being held at the Howard County Detention Center.
Police charged Wilson in connection with the April 9 shooting of Bryan Antoine Adams Jr., 20, also of Columbia. Adams was shot about 11:30 a.m. on a sidewalk in front of a shopping center in the 10400 block of Twin Rivers Road.
It was the first homicide of the year in the county. Investigators have not released information on a possible motive for the shooting.
