Wine in Woods Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks is continuing its annual Wine in the woods outdoor party from noon to 6 p.m. at Symphony Woods. The event includes wine-tasting, a souvenir glass, musical entertainment, artisans' displays, food and a wine demonstration. Admission is $25; $20 for a designated driver, and $5 for children and youth ages 4-20. Identification is required for those ages 21 and older. www.wineinthewoods.com.

Concert at 3Sundays At Three, the locally sponsored chamber music series, will present violinist Wonju Kim and her sisters, cellist Wonhi Kim and pianist Wonmi Kim, her husband Willem Blokbergen (concertmaster of the Bologna Symphony in Italy) and other musicians in a performance of works by Mendelssohn and Schubert at 3 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 6800 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia. Youth orchestra The Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra will present the last concert of its 44th season at 3 p.m. in the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre at CCBC Catonsville, 800 S. Rolling Road. Jeffrey Silberschlag will play Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra by Alexandra Pakhmutova. Also on the program are works by Tchaikovsky, Schubert and Smetana. Artful seniors Students in Howard County art classes for senior citizens at the Bain Center in Columbia are showing their work in an exhibition sponsored by Howard Community College and the Howard County Office on Aging. 'Three Phantoms' Three Broadway stars of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera - Cris Groenendaal, Craig Schulman and Kevin Gray - will perform at 6:30 p.m. at Toby's Dinner Theatre of Baltimore in a benefit for the Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts (CCTA), a theater arts program for children, founded by Toby Orenstein in 1972, which offers a conservatory program, summer camps, participation in theater productions and outreach to at-risk youth. A cocktail reception before the main performance will be followed by CCTA student entertainers and a silent auction. Tickets are $75. Havre de Grace Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will sponsor a bus trip for seniors, ages 55 and older, to Havre de Grace from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to visit the Decoy Museum, the Promenade on the Susquehanna River and the Concord Point Lighthouse. The cost is $63 and includes lunch at the Tidewater Grille. 410-313- 7320.

Lunchtime concert The Columbia Association will continue its annual Lakefront Lunchtime Concert Series at the Columbia Lakefront from noon to 2 p.m. with a performance by David LaFleur. The Julie Hall Trio is onstage May 28. The series is part of the Columbia Association's welcome initiative for new and current residents. 410-715-3104.

Chess club The Parent Resource Place, a program of Jewish Family Services in Howard County and the Jewish Federation of Howard County, is offering a weekly chess club for children ages 5 to 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the federation's offices, Suite 400, Century Plaza 1000, 10630 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia. Ghost tours Howard County Tourism is offering Friday and Saturday night ghost tours in Ellicott City at 8:30 p.m. Re-enactors tell stories from the history of the old mill town. Future
'Heart of America' Rep Stage, the professional theater-in-residence at Howard Community College, will conclude its 15th season with Naomi Wallace's response to the Persian Gulf War of 1991, In the Heart of America, May 28 through June 29 at the Studio Theatre (formerly the Black Box Theatre) in the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia. A reception is planned after the June 1 performance; discussions will be held after the June 6 and 13 performances. A free pre-show lecture is planned at 1 p.m. June 7 in the Monteabaro Recital Hall. 'Proteges II' The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will sponsor a bus trip for seniors, ages 55 and older, to the Kennedy Center to see Proteges II, a showcase by students from the world's greatest ballet academies, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 7. The cost is $81. A trip to the Occoquan Craft Fair in Virginia is planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 7. Crafts, food and live entertainment are planned. The quaint town's stores and restaurants will be open. The cost is $40. Lunch is on your own. Registration is required. 410-313-7230.
