Community Notes
Ehrmann will speak about the importance of empathy, integrity and relationships in life. Also on hand will be P.M. Forni, author of Choosing Civility: The Twenty-five Rules for Considerate Conduct, the book on which the library's initiative is based.
The Choose Civility Symposium will be held Wednesday at Grace Community Church, 8200 Old Columbia Road, Fulton. The event begins with registration and breakfast from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Cummings and County Executive Ken Ulman will speak from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.; Ehrmann will speak from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by book signing.
Breakout sessions on civility in the workplace, cyber-bullying, conflict resolution and civility in the neighborhood are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are $50, and include hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

The group, which is open to everyone, will meet at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia. Coffee and refreshments will be available.

Panels will discuss "Essential Legal Documents" from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.; "Looking at the Next Stage" from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; "Senior Care Programs at the Office on Aging" from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.; and "Aging: What's Normal, What's Not" from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Admission is free and open to everyone. Refreshments will be served through the day.
