School theater holds bingo

The Oakland Mills High School theater department will hold Longaberger Basket Bingo on Friday at the school, 9410 Kilimanjaro Road. Doors open at 5 p.m., and bingo begins at 6 p.m.
All the baskets are filled; some rare baskets will be featured. Admission is $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Extra Bingo cards, food and drinks will be available to purchase.

A unique vehicle identification number, or VIN, can be engraved on all the major pieces of glass in each car as a deterrent to theft and to assist in recovering stolen vehicles.
Those who attend can register in the Watch Your Car Program, a national vehicle theft prevention program.

Beginners meet from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.; advanced dancers from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $76 for an eight-week session. A 5 percent discount is available to those living on Columbia Association-assessed property.

Classes, therapies // The East Columbia 50+ Center is offering appointments for reflexology -- deep foot massage -- 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mondays. The cost is $40 for a 50-minute treatment. Appointments are also available between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Fridays. Reiki treatments are available by appointment 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month. The gentle technique is said to restore physical, emotional and spiritual balance and harmony. The cost is $30 for a 55-minute treatment.
• Tai Chi for Arthritis is offered 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The emphasis is on breathing and inner stillness to relieve stress and anxiety. The cost is $32 a month; no drop-ins.
• "Harmonize Exercise Class" meets 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. O.H. Laster, a personal fitness trainer, teaches "Stamina, Strength, Stretch and Synergy." The cost is $24 a month; no drop-ins.
• Pilates class, to improve strength, flexibility and coordination while reducing stress, meets noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays. The cost is $36 for six weeks.
• Trip to the Hillwood Estate: Museum and Gardens in Washington is planned 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The cost is $50. Registration and payment are due as soon as possible. 410-313-7680.
Hammond dances // The Hammond High School dance department will present its last concert of the year at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the school auditorium, 8800 Guilford Road. Tickets are $8. A three-day ticket for all three concerts costs $20. 410-313-7615.
Free kids' clinic // The Kiwanis Club of Columbia will join with the Oakland Mills Community Association in supporting an early childhood dental clinic to be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at The Other Barn in the Oakland Mills Village Center. The clinic is sponsored by Parents As Teachers, a parent education and support program of the Howard County Office of Children's Services. Children can receive a free dental examination and a free application of fluoride.
