Man charged in death
A 28-year-old man is being held without bail in the Worcester County Detention Center on charges he killed a woman Monday in the Eastern Shore town of Berlin, according to Maryland State Police.
Roberto Antonio Murillo is charged with first-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault. Police said he lived on the same block as the victim on Deep Channel Drive.
Cecilia D. Parker, 56, was found dead in her home Monday by a co-worker, who was worried because she didn't show up for her shift at Frontier Town, a theme park south of Ocean City.
The co-worker found Parker on the floor. She was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Police said she had injuries to her body, but the cause of death has not been determined, police said.
Authorities did not release any information about motive and would not say what led detectives to the suspect, who was arrested Monday night and charged Tuesday.
