Representing Lake County

NORMAN CARLSON (Lake Forest) Carlson was appointed in April by Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor.

Carlson is a railroad industry consultant and spent 34 years with Arthur Andersen Co.

Representing Cook County

STANLEY RAKESTRAW (Flossmoor) Rakestraw was appointed by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.

Rakestraw is co-founder, vice president and chief operating officer of SCR Medical Transportation, which provides transit service for disabled people.

Representing suburban Cook County

The following were appointed by suburban members of the Cook County Board (the current members are Elizabeth "Liz" Doody Gorman, Deborah Sims, Joan Murphy, Peter Silvestri, Larry Suffredin, Gregg Goslin, Timothy Schneider and Jeffrey Tobolski):

BRAD O'HALLORAN (Orland Park) Representing southwest Cook, O'Halloran was appointed in 2011.

O'Halloran is chairman of Metra's board. He is also a village trustee in Orland Park.

O'Halloran is regional director of development for the University of Notre Dame.

ARLENE MULDER (Arlington Heights) Representing northwest Cook, Mulder was appointed in 2005.

Mulder, a Republican, recently stepped down as the longtime mayor of Arlington Heights.

WILLIAM WIDMER (Evanston) Widmer represents north and west Cook.

Widmer is a labor law attorney.

DON DE GRAFF (South Holland) Representing south Cook, De Graff was appointed in 2011.

A banker, De Graff is village president of South Holland.
