Man indicted in drowning deaths of 3 children
Rockville man faces murder, child abuse charges after March incident at city hotel
A Baltimore grand jury has indicted a man on murder charges in the drowning deaths of his three children at a downtown hotel, prosecutors said today.
The grand jury indicted Mark Castillo of Rockville on murder and child abuse charges.
He allegedly drowned his children -- 6-year-old Anthony, 4-year-old Austin and 2-year-old Athena -- last month in the bathtub of their hotel room. Police said Castillo told investigators he drowned the children, then tried to overdose on an over-the-counter pain reliever and stabbed himself in the neck with a steak knife.
His arraignment is scheduled for May 19.
