MTA to hold appreciation event today
Commuters will be offered refreshments and giveaways today at the Timonium fairgrounds light rail stop for the Maryland Transit Administration's Light Rail Customer Appreciation Day.
Trains will not run north of the fairgrounds stop so that a new crossing can be constructed at Warren Road. Shuttle buses will serve the five rail stops north of Timonium Road while the work is being done. Construction is expected to continue into August, officials said.
The transit administration will provide snacks and giveaways to riders from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
