Balto. Co. police search for driver in fatal hit-and-run
Baltimore County police said today that they are searching for the driver of a car that struck and killed a motorcyclist Sunday night at Lynch and Kelmore roads in Dundalk.
James Bruce Sasser, 47, of the 2900 block of Sollers Point Road, was riding his motorcycle south on Lynch Road shortly before midnight when he was fatally struck by a Dodge Stratus that was eastbound on Kelmore Road, police said.
Witnesses told police that the driver got out of the car and ran south on Lynch Road. The owner of the car told police the car was taken without his permission by a young person he knew only as "Reds," authorities said.
Police said "Reds" is described as 16 or 17 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds, with short red hair. He was wearing a yellow shirt with black stripes on the sleeves Sunday night, police said, and is believed to frequent the Highlandtown and Patterson Park areas of Baltimore.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police crash team at 410-887-5396.
