Teen, 13, fatally stabbed in city
A teenager fatally stabbed in Northwest Baltimore last night was identified this morning as 13-year-old Tywonde Jones. He is the 28th homicide victim under the age of 18 killed in the city this year.
Few other details were available this morning. Police said Jones was stabbed outside a rowhouse in the 5000 block of Cordelia Ave., between West Garrison and Spaulding avenues, about 10 pm.
Police said he was pronounced dead on the scene.
About 12:30 this morning, a man was shot in the chest in the 3700 block of Spaulding Ave., near the stabbing scene. Police have not said whether the two incidents are related.
The shooting victim was taken to Sinai Hospital and was in critical condition last night, according to police.
