Four people shot in 12 hours in city

A 38-year-old man was shot in the face after being robbed in the 1800 block of N. Charles St. about 11 p.m. Sunday, one of four nonfatal shootings in a 12-hour period through yesterday morning, according to police.

Harold Fortune was robbed of $200 in front of a New York Fried Chicken at the intersection with North Avenue, police said. Donny Moses, a police spokesman, said one of the three assailants drew a gun and shot Fortune.

The three men ran south on Charles Street. Fortune was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital.

The first shooting occurred about 1:40 p.m. Sunday when a 17-year-old was hit multiple times in the upper torso in the 4300 block of Seminole Ave. in Southwest Baltimore, Moses said.

The teenager was sitting in a 1997 Ford Thunderbird visiting friends in the neighborhood when two men approached the driver's side and fired shots, police said. The victim was taken to Shock Trauma and remains in stable condition.

About 9:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the right forearm in the 3500 block of Reisterstown Road in Northwest Baltimore. Autorio Davis fled to the 3500 block of Overview Road before he was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, treated and released.

And about 2 a.m. yesterday, a 28-year-old man was shot in the right foot by three youths in the 1600 block of Thomas Ave. in West Baltimore, police said.

Thomas Royal II said three assailants approached him and friends of his and began shooting, Moses said. The victim, after realizing he had been shot, was able to run to Sinai Hospital.
