Funerals planned for Cecil Ave. fire victims
Services for four will be tomorrow; another service is set for Tuesday
Funeral plans for the remaining five victims of last month's Cecil Avenue fire were finalized this morning, according to Victor C. March, the owner of March Funeral Homes.
The May 22 blaze was one of the deadliest in the city's history, killing seven people and injuring six. Two children were buried earlier this week.
Services for four of the remaining victims, all family members, will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow. A wake will be at 10 a.m.
The service will be at Israel Baptist Church, 1200 N. Washington St.
Buried tomorrow will be William C. Hyman, 66; Dominic Thompson, 27; Tashon Thomas, 16; and Davonta Witherspoon, 13.
A separate funeral for Melvin L. Beckett, 13, will be Tuesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. The wake will be at 10:30 a.m. The service will be at Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church, 2423 E. Biddle St.
